Drenia Islands or Donkey Islands (Gaidouronisia in Greek) as it's also known between the locals, is a group of small islets located at the southern east tip of Ammouliani island and just 2 nautical miles opposite of Ouranoupolis. The islands offer a rich under the sea world ideal for diving, numerous beaches for swimming, organized and pristine secluded coasts as well, which make Drenia the most beautiful secret of the region.

The cluster of 6 islets took its name from the largest one island named Drenia. The other smaller islands have names like Feti, Penna, Artemis, Tigani, Pontiki.

The six islands that make up Drenia are actually more like two islands and four rocky crags that rise from the sea. The smaller islands help to form a ring that surrounds a sandy seafloor and creates a natural shallow swimming pool. Exotic white sand, clear turquoise waters and gorgeous beaches, all certified with blue flags create this way some of the most enchanting beaches of Halkidiki!

On the islands except for the beautiful shallow sandy beaches you can enjoy a magnificent island scenery. On the bigger one island there is a fully organized beach with umbrellas, sun beds, refreshment stand etc. There's also a tavern for traditional Greek food, a beach bar and canteen alongside the beach. And if you have kids, don't miss to visit the water park which offers endless fun for the whole family.

You can reach Drenia islands only by sea either with small boats starting from Ouranoupolis, or by renting your own boat.
